Our professional and empathetic team provide high-quality care for those with terminal illnesses, from day-to-day support to clinical care, providing them with the help they need to remain in their own homes for as long as possible.
We understand that end-of-life care can be a distressing and stressful time, and tailor our support to provide dignity and independence so that terminally-ill people can make the most of time with their loved ones.
In-Home Palliative Care
At Helping Hands, we work closely with families, hospices and medical professionals to tailor our support to meet the needs of the individual that we’re caring for. We develop specialised home care plans around existing routines, and can provide regular support to help with daily tasks; getting people out of bed and dressed, bathing, along with household tasks such as cleaning and preparing meals.
Our skilled carers are trained to deliver medical support when needed, including nutritional and medication support via PEG and gastrostomy tube, mechanical ventilation, and care of catheters and stomas. Our team provide high quality clinical care to people with terminal illnesses to help them maintain their dignity, privacy and independence.
We know that end-of-life care can be a distressing period for friends and family members, and that additional support is often needed to ensure that carers have the opportunity to look after their own wellbeing, too. We support families and carers with tailored respite care, whether it’s an hour to go shopping or overnight for a special event, to provide flexibility and “breathing space” during this difficult time.
