Helping Hands Community care

Home care can be complex and challenging; there may even be a need to call upon health and care professionals to support recovery from a specific incident or illness.

Many people turn to Helping Hands when they need support with more complex interventions in their own home.

We work closely with users, their families and existing professionals to ensure that personal care needs are met and independence maintained.

Complex care at home can often require home adaptations along with moving, handling and mobility aids. Our clinical team can go the extra mile in providing practical help, working with occupational therapists and external agencies.

Some examples of the medical support and nursing led tasks our care staff can support with include:

  • Nutritional and medication support via PEG and gastrostomy tube
  • Continence products – convene application
  • Non-invasive and invasive mechanical ventilation
  • Tracheostomy care
  • Care of urethral and supra pubic catheters
  • Care of stomas – ileostomy, colostomy, and urostomy
  • Installation of medication via nebulisers and space devices
  • Blood sugar monitoring
  • Application of eye and ear drops and creams
